Samsung Galaxy Hub
Samsung publishes more charging numbers than Apple or Google, which makes its phones the easiest to line up. This page uses the figures on our phone pages to show what each Galaxy lists for wired speed, wireless speed and launch price, then explains what Samsung says about the adapter.
Which Galaxy phones does our library cover?
Our library covers 13 Galaxy phones: five in the Galaxy S line (S26 Ultra, S26+, S26, S26 FE and S25 Ultra), three Z foldables (Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8 and Z Flip8) and five A-series phones. Samsung’s US store lists 12 phones, and our library covers 11 of them. The one it does not cover yet is the Galaxy S25 Edge. The library also includes two phones that the store page no longer lists, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy A16 5G.

Which Galaxy phones charge fastest by cable?
The Galaxy S26 Ultra lists the highest wired figure in our library, 60W, followed by 45W on the Galaxy S26+, S26 FE, A37 5G and A57 5G, and 25W on the Galaxy S26, Z Flip8, A16 5G, A17 5G and A27 5G. Samsung also gives 30-minute charge claims for several phones, summarised below.
| Wired tier | Phones | Samsung’s 30-minute claim |
|---|---|---|
| 60W | Galaxy S26 Ultra | Up to 75% in around 30 minutes, adapter sold separately |
| 45W | Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26 FE | Up to 69% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter |
| 45W | Galaxy A57 5G | Up to 60% in around 30 minutes with a 45W Super Fast Charger |
| 45W | Galaxy A37 5G | 45W Super Fast Charging supported; no 30-minute figure recorded |
| 25W | Galaxy S26, Galaxy Z Flip8 | Up to 55% in around 30 minutes with a 25W adapter and 3A USB-C cable |
| 25W | Galaxy A17 5G | Up to 50% in 30 minutes |
| 25W | Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy A27 5G | 25W Super Fast Charging supported; no 30-minute figure recorded |
| Not published | Galaxy S25 Ultra | Up to 65% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter |
| Not published | Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 | Up to 67% and 63% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter |
Samsung says several of these figures come from internal lab tests starting at 0% with the screen off, so they are best-case claims. For the three phones marked “not published”, Samsung lists a 45W adapter and a percentage but no maximum wattage that we could verify, so we do not state one.
What adapter does a Galaxy phone need?
Samsung’s support page says “Super fast charging is only available on select device, and you will need to use a 25W or 45W Samsung-approved adapter,” and that your device will automatically choose the best supported charging speed when plugged into a higher-rated charger. The charger’s rating is a ceiling, not a push.
Samsung also says to use only Samsung-approved charging devices, and that other accessories may invalidate your warranty and cause damage. Samsung’s UK page for its 45W adapter lists PPS output of 5.0 to 20.0V; our PPS guide explains what that means. The support page names 25W and 45W adapters, so for the 60W Galaxy S26 Ultra open its phone page and check which adapter Samsung names. See the wattage guide for the cross-brand numbers.
Which Galaxy phones have wireless charging?
Eight of the 13 Galaxy phones list wireless charging; the five A-series phones do not. Samsung’s support pages say the Galaxy A16 5G and A17 5G do not support wireless charging, and its A-series comparison page says wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare are not supported on the A27, A37 and A57.
Among the eight that do, Samsung lists 15W on the Galaxy S26, S26 FE and Z Flip8, 20W on the S26+, Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, and 25W on the S26 Ultra. For the Galaxy S25 Ultra Samsung lists Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 without a wattage we recorded. All eight also list Wireless PowerShare, which lets the phone charge another device. Samsung describes the wireless charging as compatible with WPC, the Wireless Power Consortium that sets the Qi standard, and our library labels it Qi; none of the 13 pages lists Qi2. See Qi and Qi2.
Do Galaxy phones come with a charger?
No. None of the 13 Galaxy pages records a power adapter in the box. Samsung’s box lists name the phone and a USB-C cable (a 3A USB Type-C charging cable for the Galaxy S26 family and S26 FE, a USB-C to USB-C data cable for the A-series), and Samsung’s tables say the adapter is sold separately. Plan to buy an adapter that suits your phone’s tier, and read which charger is safe for my phone first.
What screens do Galaxy phones use?
All 13 Galaxy phones list an AMOLED-family display, and Samsung says AMOLED is a type of OLED screen technology. The A16 5G and A17 5G list refresh rates up to 90Hz; the other 11 list up to 120Hz. According to the phone pages, the S-series and the foldables’ main screens are Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels, and the A-series uses Super AMOLED. Read OLED and refresh rates for the background.
