Editorial Policy
Phone Factory exists to be a source you can check. These are the rules every page follows.
How do we source facts?
- Every fact has a live source. We look facts up from the source on the day we publish; memory is not a source. Each page shows its sources and the date we last verified them.
- No source, no spec. If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out. We do not estimate specs or prices.
- Manufacturers win conflicts. When sources disagree, the official manufacturer page decides, and we note the conflict internally.
- Launch prices only. Where we show a price it is a launch price with its source and date, never a current price.
- No rumors. We include a phone only after it has been released.
What do we link to, and what media do we use?
- iFixit. We link to iFixit guides and device pages and never copy their text or images.
- YouTube. We link only to videos we have confirmed exist; otherwise we link to a search.
- Images. We do not use press or marketing images from phone makers, and we do not use AI-generated images. Where a phone page shows a photograph, it is a real photo of that model from Wikimedia Commons under a free licence that allows reuse (CC0, public domain, CC BY or CC BY-SA), credited on the page and listed on the About page.
- Original writing. We explain things in our own words.
How does money enter the picture?
Some pages will carry affiliate links, clearly marked. Read our affiliate disclosure. Links never change what we say.
