The Galaxy A27 5G is the cheapest of Samsung’s 2026 A phones to offer a 120Hz screen, and it keeps the microSD slot that its pricier siblings drop. This page collects Samsung’s documented facts for it, explains what they mean for the cable and charger you buy, and compares it with the Galaxy A37 5G and the Galaxy A17 5G. Every figure is traced to a source listed at the bottom of the page.

Where does the Galaxy A27 5G fit?
Samsung’s US announcement is dated June 25, 2026. It says the Galaxy A27 5G would be available in the US on July 14 in a Black colorway on Samsung.com, with pricing starting at $349.99. It is listed on Samsung’s current US smartphone page with the A57 5G, A37 5G and A17 5G. We could not find the A27 in the sales rankings we cite, so it ranks twenty-fifth in our library as part of the current lineup. See the Samsung hub for the rest of the family.
What cable does the Galaxy A27 5G use?
Samsung’s US set-up page lists a USB-C to USB-C data cable in the box, so the phone charges and syncs over USB-C. Our USB-C explainer covers the connector: slim, reversible and defined by the USB-IF. Samsung’s pages did not give a USB data version, so we state no data speed; the USB speed guide explains the general tiers, and cable buying safety covers how to pick a replacement.
What charger does the Galaxy A27 5G need?
Wired. Samsung’s announcement lists 25W Fast Charging and its accessories page says the phone supports 25W Super Fast charging with its 5,000mAh battery. Compatible accessories on Samsung’s list are a 15W power adapter and a 25W PD power adapter, each with or without a cable, and a USB Type-C cable sold without an adapter. The box has no adapter, so budget for one. Samsung’s page for its 25W adapter describes Super Fast Charging as a method based on USB Power Delivery 3.0 with PD 3.0 PPS support at up to 25W; see PPS and Samsung Super Fast Charging, USB Power Delivery and the wattage guide.
Wireless. There is none. Samsung’s A-series comparison page says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported, so Qi, Qi2 and MagSafe chargers will not work. For a checklist on adapters, read which charger is safe for my phone.
The screen, explained
The Galaxy A27 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-O design and a refresh rate up to 120Hz. Samsung says the 6.7-inch figure is measured on the full rectangle and the screen is 6.5 inches with the rounded corners and camera cutout accounted for. Samsung describes AMOLED as a type of OLED, which we explain in OLED explained; our refresh rate guide covers what “up to 120Hz” means. The Galaxy A17 5G lists 90Hz, so the A27 is the cheapest model with 120Hz in the 2026 A series. Samsung does not describe an LTPO panel; see LTPO OLED.
Performance, cameras and storage
The phone uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, a 4nm octa-core processor with four cores at 2.4GHz and four at 1.8GHz, according to Samsung’s specification table. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with a microSD slot that takes cards up to 2TB. The cameras are a 50MP wide with optical image stabilization, a 5MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro and a 12MP front camera, with 4K video at 30fps. The battery is 5,000mAh (typical).
Build, durability and software
The phone measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8 mm and weighs 200 grams. Samsung lists IP64 water and dust resistance, Samsung Knox Vault, Android 16 and One UI 8.5. IP64 is a lower rating than the IP68 on the A37 and A57. Samsung says up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the initial global launch date.
Awesome Intelligence features
Samsung’s support page says Gemini and Circle to Search are available on all four 2026 A phones, and that Object Eraser, AI Select, My Filters, Edit Suggestion, Read highlights aloud and Voice transcription are available on the A27, A37 and A57, with features limited on the A27 and A37. These are Samsung’s descriptions, and some features need a Samsung account and a network connection.
How it compares with the A37 and the A17
Against the A37, the A27 has 25W charging against 45W, IP64 against IP68, a single 6GB configuration against 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a 5MP ultra-wide against 8MP and a microSD slot the A37 lacks. It is also heavier, at 200 grams against 196, and cheaper at $349.99 against $449.99. Against the A17, the A27 matches the 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging but adds a 120Hz screen against 90Hz, 6GB of RAM against 4GB, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 against the Exynos 1330, IP64 against IP54, 4K video against 1080p and optical image stabilization on the main camera on both.
What is in the box
Samsung’s set-up page lists the phone, a USB-C to USB-C data cable and an ejection pin tool. Samsung’s accessories page treats power adapters as separate purchases, so budget for a 25W adapter on top of the $349.99 starting price.
The 2026 Galaxy A series side by side
Samsung’s own comparison page makes it easy to see where each step up in price goes. This table uses Samsung’s US figures; launch prices come from each phone’s announcement.

| Launch price (US) | $199.99 | $349.99 | $449.99 | $549.99 |
Samsung says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported on any of the four, and that the whole range gets Gemini and Circle to Search. The pattern is clear: the jump from 25W to 45W charging, from IP64 to IP68 and from a 5MP to an 8MP ultra-wide camera arrives at the A37, and the A57 adds a brighter Super AMOLED Plus panel, more RAM and a 12MP ultra-wide.
How to read Samsung’s battery and charging numbers
Samsung’s footnotes explain how to read the figures for this phone. The 5,000mAh capacity is a typical value tested under third-party laboratory conditions, an estimated average that accounts for variation between battery samples under the IEC 61960 standard, and Samsung says actual battery life varies with network environment, the features and apps used, how often you call and message, how many times you have charged and many other factors. Its charging notes add that the speed depends on battery level and other factors, that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables and that you should not use worn or damaged ones. So treat the headline numbers as a way to compare phones, not a promise for your day.
