The Galaxy A57 5G sits at the top of Samsung’s mid-range, where the specifications start to overlap with flagship phones at a much lower price. This page collects Samsung’s documented facts for it, explains what they mean for the cable and charger you buy, and compares it with its siblings the Galaxy A37 5G and Galaxy A27 5G. Every figure is traced to a source listed at the bottom of the page.

Two blanks are deliberate. The chip row is empty because the Samsung pages we checked describe an upgraded CPU, GPU and NPU but do not name the processor. The USB spec row is empty because we found no USB version for the US model.

Where does the Galaxy A57 5G fit?

Samsung introduced the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G together. Its US announcement says both would be available from April 9, 2026, with the A57 starting at $549.99 as an unlocked version in Awesome Navy at Samsung Experience Stores and on Samsung.com. Storage is 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB. Samsung’s current US smartphone page lists it with the A37 5G, A27 5G and A17 5G, and we could not find the A57 in the sales rankings we cite, so it ranks twenty-third in our library as part of the current lineup. See the Samsung hub for the rest of the family.

What cable does the Galaxy A57 5G use?

Samsung’s US set-up page for the phone lists a USB-C to USB-C data cable in the box, so it charges and syncs over USB-C. Our USB-C explainer covers the connector: slim, reversible and defined by the USB-IF. Samsung’s pages did not give a USB data version, so we state no data speed; the USB speed guide explains the general tiers. For a replacement, see cable buying safety. Samsung’s own charger list includes a plain USB Type-C cable sold without an adapter.

What charger does the Galaxy A57 5G need?

Wired. Samsung’s A-series comparison page lists wired Ultra Fast Charging up to 45W for the A57, and its announcement says Super Fast Charging 2.0 reaches up to 60% in around 30 minutes with a charger sold separately. Samsung’s accessories page says the phone requires the 45W Super Fast Charger sold separately, that charging speed depends on battery level and other factors, and that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables and avoid worn or damaged ones. It lists 15W, 25W and 45W power adapters with and without cables as compatible. The USB-IF describes the USB Power Delivery standard behind this kind of charging on its USB Power Delivery page; see also PPS and Samsung Super Fast Charging and the wattage guide.

Wireless. There is none. Samsung’s A-series comparison page says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported, so Qi, Qi2 and MagSafe chargers will not charge it. For a checklist on adapters, read which charger is safe for my phone.

The screen, explained

The Galaxy A57 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a refresh rate up to 120Hz and Vision Booster. Samsung says the 6.7-inch figure is measured on the full rectangle and the screen is 6.6 inches with the rounded corners accounted for. Samsung describes AMOLED as a type of OLED, which we explain in OLED explained; the “up to 120Hz” wording means the rate can vary, and our refresh rate guide covers what that means. Samsung’s A-series page calls it Super AMOLED Plus with an Infinity-O display, and does not describe an LTPO panel; see LTPO OLED.

Cameras, battery and performance

Samsung’s table lists a 50MP wide camera (f/1.8), a 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2), a 5MP macro (f/2.4) and a 12MP front camera, with 4K video at 30fps and quad-pixel digital zoom up to 10x. The battery is 5,000mAh (typical). Samsung’s announcement describes an upgraded CPU, GPU and NPU and a vapor chamber that it says is 13% larger to help sustain performance during extended gaming or recording. It lists 8GB of RAM with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and says the A57 and A37 do not support external memory cards.

Build, durability and software

The phone measures 161.5 x 76.8 x 6.9 mm and weighs 179 grams. Samsung lists IP68 water and dust resistance, Samsung Knox security, Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Samsung says it offers up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the first global launch date, and that timing may vary by device model and market.

Awesome Intelligence features

Samsung’s announcement and support pages highlight AI features for the A series: Gemini and Circle to Search on all four 2026 A phones, and, on the A27, A37 and A57, Object Eraser, AI Select, My Filters, Edit Suggestion, Read highlights aloud and Voice transcription. Samsung says the A57 alone adds Best Face, which picks the best expression from a Motion Photo, and Auto Trim, which selects key moments to create a highlight reel. These are Samsung’s descriptions and some need a Samsung account and a network connection.

How it compares with the A37 and the A27

Samsung’s A-series comparison page puts the family side by side. The A57 and A37 both list a 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging and a 6.7-inch 120Hz screen, but the A57 has the Super AMOLED+ panel, 8GB of RAM, a 12MP ultra-wide against 8MP, a thinner and lighter body (6.9 mm and 179 grams against 7.4 mm and 196 grams) and launched at $549.99 against $449.99. The A27 lists only 25W charging, IP64, a microSD slot and a 6GB-RAM single configuration at $349.99.

What is in the box

Samsung’s set-up page lists the phone, a USB-C to USB-C data cable and an ejection pin tool, and its charging note says the 45W Super Fast Charger is sold separately. That means a $549.99 phone plus a 45W adapter costs more than the sticker price, so budget for the adapter.

The 2026 Galaxy A series side by side

Samsung’s own comparison page makes it easy to see where each step up in price goes. This table uses Samsung’s US figures; launch prices come from each phone’s announcement.

Samsung says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported on any of the four, and that the whole range gets Gemini and Circle to Search. The pattern is clear: the jump from 25W to 45W charging, from IP64 to IP68 and from a 5MP to an 8MP ultra-wide camera arrives at the A37, and the A57 adds a brighter Super AMOLED Plus panel, more RAM and a 12MP ultra-wide.

How to read Samsung’s battery and charging numbers

Samsung’s footnotes explain how to read the figures for this phone. The 5,000mAh capacity is a typical value tested under third-party laboratory conditions, an estimated average that accounts for variation between battery samples under the IEC 61960 standard, and Samsung says actual battery life varies with network environment, the features and apps used, how often you call and message, how many times you have charged and many other factors. Its charging notes add that the speed depends on battery level and other factors, that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables and that you should not use worn or damaged ones. So treat the headline numbers as a way to compare phones, not a promise for your day.
