The Galaxy A37 5G is the sensible middle of Samsung’s 2026 A series, borrowing the charging and screen refresh rate of the A57 at a lower price. This page collects Samsung’s documented facts for it, explains what they mean for the cable and charger you buy, and compares it with the Galaxy A57 5G and the Galaxy A27 5G. Every figure is traced to a source listed at the bottom of the page.

Two blanks are deliberate. The chip row is empty because the Samsung pages we checked do not name the A37’s processor. The USB spec row is empty because we found no USB version for the US model.
Where does the Galaxy A37 5G fit?
Samsung introduced the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G together, and its US announcement says both would be available from April 9, 2026. The A37 starts at $449.99 and is offered in Awesome Charcoal and Awesome Lavender at Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung.com, with Awesome Charcoal also available at carriers nationwide. Samsung says it also comes in Graygreen at Best Buy and Awesome White at Amazon.com. Storage is 6GB of RAM with 128GB or 8GB of RAM with 256GB.
Samsung’s current US smartphone page lists it with the A57 5G, A27 5G and A17 5G. We could not find the A37 in the sales rankings we cite, so it ranks twenty-fourth in our library as part of the current lineup. See the Samsung hub for the rest of the family.
What cable does the Galaxy A37 5G use?
Samsung’s US set-up page lists a USB-C to USB-C data cable in the box, so the phone charges and syncs over USB-C. Our USB-C explainer covers the connector. Samsung’s pages did not give a USB data version, so we state no data speed; the USB speed guide explains the general tiers, and cable buying safety covers how to pick a replacement.
What charger does the Galaxy A37 5G need?
Wired. Samsung’s A-series comparison page lists wired Ultra Fast Charging up to 45W for the A37, and its accessories page says the phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W Super Fast charging, with the 45W Super Fast Charger sold separately. Samsung adds that charging speed depends on battery level and other factors, that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables and that worn or damaged chargers and cables should not be used. It lists 15W, 25W and 45W power adapters, with and without cables, as compatible. See USB Power Delivery, PPS and Samsung Super Fast Charging and the wattage guide.
Wireless. There is none. Samsung says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported, so Qi, Qi2 and MagSafe chargers will not work. For a checklist on adapters, read which charger is safe for my phone.
The screen, explained
The Galaxy A37 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate up to 120Hz and Vision Booster. Samsung says the 6.7-inch figure is measured on the full rectangle and the screen is 6.5 inches with the rounded corners accounted for. Samsung describes AMOLED as a type of OLED, which we explain in OLED explained; our refresh rate guide covers what “up to 120Hz” means. Samsung’s A-series page describes an Infinity-O display and does not describe an LTPO panel; see LTPO OLED. The A57’s panel is the step up, called Super AMOLED+ by Samsung.
Cameras, battery and storage
Samsung’s table lists a 50MP wide camera (f/1.8), an 8MP ultra-wide (f/2.2), a 5MP macro (f/2.4) and a 12MP front camera, with 4K video at 30fps and quad-pixel digital zoom up to 10x. The battery is 5,000mAh (typical). Samsung says the A57 and A37 do not support external memory cards, so the internal capacity you buy is the capacity you keep.
Build, durability and software
The phone measures 162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4 mm and weighs 196 grams. Samsung lists IP68 water and dust resistance, Samsung Knox security, Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Samsung says it offers up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the first global launch date, with timing that may vary by device model and market.
Awesome Intelligence features
Samsung’s support page says Gemini and Circle to Search are available on all four 2026 A phones, and that Object Eraser, AI Select, My Filters, Edit Suggestion, Read highlights aloud and Voice transcription are available on the A27, A37 and A57, with some features limited on the A27 and A37. Best Face and Auto Trim are listed for the A57 only. These are Samsung’s own descriptions, and some features need a Samsung account and a network connection.
How it compares with the A57 and the A27
Against the A57, the A37 shares the 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, 120Hz screen and IP68 rating, but uses a Super AMOLED panel rather than Super AMOLED+, an 8MP ultra-wide against 12MP, and weighs 196 grams against 179 grams, at $449.99 against $549.99. Against the A27, the A37 has 45W charging against 25W, IP68 against IP64, 6GB or 8GB of RAM against 6GB, and no microSD slot where the A27 supports cards up to 2TB, at $449.99 against $349.99.
What is in the box
Samsung’s set-up page lists the phone, a USB-C to USB-C data cable and an ejection pin tool. The 45W Super Fast Charger is sold separately, so budget for an adapter on top of the $449.99 starting price.
The 2026 Galaxy A series side by side
Samsung’s own comparison page makes it easy to see where each step up in price goes. This table uses Samsung’s US figures; launch prices come from each phone’s announcement.
| Galaxy A17 5G | Galaxy A27 5G | Galaxy A37 5G | Galaxy A57 5G | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Screen | 6.7” Super AMOLED, 90Hz | 6.7” Super AMOLED, 120Hz | 6.7” Super AMOLED, 120Hz | 6.7” Super AMOLED Plus, 120Hz |
| RAM and storage | 4GB, 128GB | 6GB, 128GB | 6GB, 128GB or 8GB, 256GB | 8GB, 128GB or 256GB |

| Video | 1080p at 30fps | 4K at 30fps | 4K at 30fps | 4K at 30fps |

| Launch price (US) | $199.99 | $349.99 | $449.99 | $549.99 |
Samsung says wireless charging and PowerShare are not supported on any of the four, and that the whole range gets Gemini and Circle to Search. The pattern is clear: the jump from 25W to 45W charging, from IP64 to IP68 and from a 5MP to an 8MP ultra-wide camera arrives at the A37, and the A57 adds a brighter Super AMOLED Plus panel, more RAM and a 12MP ultra-wide.
How to read Samsung’s battery and charging numbers
Samsung’s footnotes explain how to read the figures for this phone. The 5,000mAh capacity is a typical value tested under third-party laboratory conditions, an estimated average that accounts for variation between battery samples under the IEC 61960 standard, and Samsung says actual battery life varies with network environment, the features and apps used, how often you call and message, how many times you have charged and many other factors. Its charging notes add that the speed depends on battery level and other factors, that you should use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables and that you should not use worn or damaged ones. So treat the headline numbers as a way to compare phones, not a promise for your day.
