Two blanks are deliberate. The wired charging row is empty because Google publishes a fast-charging claim tied to a charger, not a maximum wattage for the phone, and we do not guess one. The iFixit score row is empty because iFixit’s page for this phone showed none when we looked.

Where does the Pixel 11 Pro XL fit?

Google’s launch announcement introduced three phones together: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL. It gave starting prices of $899, $1099 and $1299, and said all three would be on shelves at the Google Store and retail partners on August 20. A later post titled “Buy the new Pixel 11 phones” confirms the phones were on shelves. The Pro XL is the large model in the Pro pair: Google’s specification page shows the Pro at 6.3 inches and the Pro XL at 6.8 inches.

The Pro XL sits at number 26 in our library because of how we order it, not because of sales. Google’s phones do not appear in the sales rankings we cite, so the Pixel 11 family comes after the models those rankings name. Google’s store page lists the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL as current. What cable does the Pixel 11 Pro XL use?

The phone has a USB Type-C port, and Google lists it as USB Type-C 3.2. That is a faster USB family than the USB 2 figure Apple lists for the iPhone 17, and our USB speed guide shows the official 3.2 speed tiers of 5, 10 and 20 Gb/s. Google does not say in the specification page which of those speeds the port runs at, so we do not either.

There is a catch worth knowing. The cable in the box is listed by Google as a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable that is USB 2.0, 2nd gen. The USB-IF says USB products run at the lowest common speed of the devices and cable in use, so that included cable is a charging and basic-data cable rather than a way to reach the top speed of a USB 3.2 port. If you want faster data, you need a cable made for it; see cable buying safety for how to pick one. For background on the connector, read our USB-C explainer.

What charger does the Pixel 11 Pro XL need?

Wired. Google says fast charging takes the Pro XL to up to 75% in about 30 minutes using a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. The Pro, by comparison, is listed at up to 55% in about 30 minutes with a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher. PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply, a feature of the USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification; our pages on PPS and USB Power Delivery explain how it works. Google’s stated requirement is simple: a USB-C PPS charger rated 45W or higher. Our wattage guide lists other published figures.

Because the box has no adapter, you must supply one. The USB-IF says certified USB Fast Chargers are backwards compatible with devices that support USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery, and recommends buying certified products from trusted sources. For a full checklist, read which charger is safe for my phone.

Wireless. Google lists Pixelsnap wireless charging that is Qi2.2-certified, at up to 25W. Qi2 is the magnetic wireless standard from the Wireless Power Consortium, and Qi2 25W is the version the consortium describes as delivering nearly 70% more power than Qi2. See Qi2 explained and our wireless charger buying guide. The WPC also says only Qi Certified products may carry the Qi or Qi2 logo, which is something concrete to check when you shop.

Google’s launch post says the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro gain Qi 2.2 25W compatibility as a new feature this generation, and that Pixelsnap is built in across the line.

The screen, explained

The Pro XL has a 6.8-inch Super Actua display. Google lists it as 1344 x 2992 LTPO OLED at 486 PPI with a 20:9 aspect ratio, with Smooth Display from 1 to 120 Hz. Brightness is up to 2400 nits for HDR and up to 3600 nits at peak, and the contrast ratio is listed as above 2,000,000:1.

Two terms matter here. OLED means every pixel makes its own light; see OLED explained. LTPO is a panel design that lets the refresh rate change on the fly over a wide range, which is how a screen can fall as low as 1 Hz when nothing is moving and rise to 120 Hz for scrolling and games. Our LTPO OLED page covers it, and the refresh rate guide explains the numbers. Google uses the LTPO term in its own specification, which is why this phone is labelled LTPO OLED in our table; the Apple pages we checked do not use the term.

The cover glass is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an anti-scratch shield. Google’s launch post says a new anti-scratch display coating delivers more than double the scratch resistance of the previous generation.

Performance, cameras and battery

The phone is powered by the Google Tensor G6, alongside the Titan M3 security coprocessor. Google’s launch post describes Tensor G6 as its fastest and most powerful chip, says it brings 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches, and says it runs the latest Gemini Nano model. Memory comes as 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage, or 16 GB with 512 GB or 1 TB; the larger two use Zoned UFS for faster performance.

The rear cameras are a triple system: a 50 MP wide camera (f/1.68, 82-degree field of view), a 48 MP ultrawide with autofocus and Macro Focus (f/1.7, 123 degrees) and a 48 MP 5x telephoto with optical image stabilization (f/2.8). Google lists Pro Zoom up to 120x. The front camera is 42 MP with autofocus. Video goes up to 8K at 24 or 30 frames per second, using Video Boost, with 4K at up to 60.

For battery, Google lists 30+ hours of battery life and a typical capacity of 5115 mAh (minimum 5000 mAh) for the Pro XL. These are manufacturer figures, and real use will vary.

Build, durability and software

The phone is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, and uses an aluminum frame with a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 back. It measures 6.4 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 0.3 inches deep, and weighs 8 ounces. Colors are Canyon, Olive, Fog and Obsidian, the last with a matte finish.

Google lists 7 years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates, and says the phone launched with Android 17. It supports dual eSIM, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Google’s launch post describes HiLight on the Pro phones as a way to stay informed without looking at the screen when the phone is face down.

Repair overview

iFixit has a device page for the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL describing it as released in August 2026. When we checked it listed no repair guides and no repairability score, so we link only to the device page and show no score. We never copy iFixit’s guides.

Read our repair overview for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, battery replacement basics, screen replacement basics and how to read repairability scores. Our battery page cites Apple’s guidance because we have not yet found a Google equivalent. The FAA notes that all lithium-ion batteries can overheat, so battery work is best left to trained technicians.

Who should buy it, and who might skip it

Facts that help you decide:

  • You want the biggest Pixel screen. It is 6.8 inches, against 6.3 inches on the Pro.
  • You want the faster Pixel charging claim. Google lists up to 75% in about 30 minutes with a 45W PPS charger, versus 55% on the Pro with 30W.
  • You want long software support. Google lists 7 years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
  • You want wireless charging. It supports Qi2.2-certified Pixelsnap charging up to 25W.
  • You want a charger included. None is in the box; budget for a 45W PPS adapter.
  • You expect the included cable to give the top data speed. The box cable is listed as USB 2.0, so fast data needs a different cable.
