The Pixel 10a is the A-series phone in Google’s current lineup, positioned below the Pixel 11 family. It trades the newest chip and Qi2 charging for a lower price, and Google lists the same seven years of updates. This page collects Google’s documented facts for it, explains what they mean for the cable and charger you buy, and compares it with the Pixel 11. Every figure is traced to a source listed at the bottom of the page.

The wired charging row is blank on purpose: Google publishes a fast-charging claim tied to a charger, not a maximum wattage for the phone, and we do not guess one. The iFixit score row is blank because iFixit showed no score when we checked.
Where does the Pixel 10a fit?
Google’s announcement post, titled “Google announces the new Pixel 10a for $499”, says the A-series phones offer its most helpful features at an accessible price. It says the phone could be pre-ordered with the Pixel Buds 2a from March 5 and calls the 10a its most durable A-series phone yet, thanks to IP68 water and dust protection and durable materials. Google lists four colors, Lavender, Berry, Fog and Obsidian, and two storage sizes with 8GB of RAM each, 128GB and 256GB.
One price note: the Google Store spec page we retrieved on 2026-10-05 showed “From $599”, while the launch post gave $499. We show $499 as the launch price and label it as such; check the Google Store for today’s price before you buy.
Google’s phones do not appear in the sales rankings we cite, so the Pixel 10a ranks thirtieth in our library as part of Google’s current lineup, which Google lists on its Store page. See the Google hub for the family, including the Pixel 11 Pro.
What cable does the Pixel 10a use?
The phone has a USB Type-C port, which Google lists as USB Type-C 3.2. The USB-IF defines USB 3.2 at 5, 10 and 20 Gb/s (see the USB speed guide), but Google does not say which of those the port runs at, so we do not either. The box cable is a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable that Google lists as USB 2.0, and the USB-IF says USB products run at the lowest common speed, so that cable limits data speed. For faster transfers buy a cable made for them, and read cable buying safety and our USB-C explainer.
What charger does the Pixel 10a need?
Wired. Google says fast charging takes the Pixel 10a to up to 50% in about 30 minutes using a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. PPS stands for Programmable Power Supply, a feature of USB Power Delivery 3.0; see PPS and USB Power Delivery. The box has no adapter, so you must supply one, and the 45W figure is higher than the 30W that the Pixel 11 family lists. The wattage guide lists other published figures.
Wireless. Google lists wireless charging that is Qi-certified and gives no wattage. The Wireless Power Consortium says only Qi Certified products may show the Qi or Qi2 logo, and Google does not list Qi2 for this phone. See the Qi explainer, Qi2 explained and the wireless charger guide. For a checklist, read which charger is safe for my phone.
The screen, explained
The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch Actua display. Google lists it as 1080 x 2424 pOLED at 422.2 PPI with a 20:9 aspect ratio and Smooth Display from 60 to 120Hz, up to 2000 nits for HDR and up to 3000 nits at peak, and a contrast ratio above 2,000,000:1. The cover glass is Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
pOLED is a kind of OLED panel, so we list the type as OLED. OLED means each pixel makes its own light; see OLED explained. The 60 to 120Hz range means the screen cannot drop to 1Hz the way the Pro models’ screens can; see the LTPO guide and the refresh rate guide.
Performance, cameras and battery
The Pixel 10a uses the Google Tensor G4 with the Titan M2 security coprocessor and 8GB of RAM. Google lists a typical 5100 mAh battery (minimum 5000 mAh), 30+ hours of battery life and up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. That typical battery capacity is larger than the Pixel 11’s 4985 mAh.
The dual rear camera system is a 48MP wide camera (f/1.7, 82-degree field of view, 1/2-inch sensor) with optical and electronic image stabilization and a 13MP ultrawide (f/2.2, 120 degrees). Google lists Super Zoom up to 8x, 4K video at 30 or 60 frames per second and a 13MP front camera at f/2.2. Features include Macro Focus, Night Sight, Add Me, Magic Eraser and Best Take. Google’s launch post says the 10a has the best camera under $500 and that A-series phones have had a best-in-class camera five generations in a row.
Build, durability and software
The phone has a Gorilla Glass 7i front and a composite matte back with a satin aluminum frame, rated IP68. It measures 6.1 inches tall, 2.9 inches wide and 0.4 inches deep and weighs 6.5 ounces. Google says the aluminum in the housing is 100% recycled content, that the back cover uses at least 81% recycled plastic and that the phone is made with at least 36% recycled materials by product weight. Google lists 7 years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates, says it launched with Android 16, and lists dual SIM with a single nano SIM and an eSIM, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.
How it compares with the Pixel 11
Google’s pages show the Pixel 11 as the step up. It has a newer chip (Tensor G6 against Tensor G4), a 60 to 120Hz Actua display at 6.3 inches with up to 3000 nits peak, Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W, 12GB of RAM and a 5x telephoto camera, at a $899 launch price against $499 here. The 10a lists a larger typical battery (5100 mAh against 4985 mAh), a 45W PPS charging claim against 30W, and the same seven years of updates, IP68 rating and USB 2.0 box cable.
What is in the box
Google’s What’s in the box list names the Pixel 10a, a 1 m USB-C to USB-C cable (USB 2.0) and a SIM tool. No power adapter is listed, so a 45W PPS charger is a separate purchase.
Security and safety features Google lists
Google lists a Tensor security core, a certified Titan M2 security chip and a Trusted Execution Environment called Trusty. It also lists a VPN by Google at no extra cost, anti-malware and anti-phishing protection, and spam protection in Google Phone and Messages. Safety features include Satellite SOS, Emergency SOS, Crisis Alerts, Car Crash Detection, Safety Check and theft protection, and authentication is by Fingerprint Unlock, Face Unlock or a pattern, PIN or password. These are Google’s descriptions of its own features, and some depend on your region, carrier or subscription.
Repair overview
iFixit has a device page for the Google Pixel 10a, which says the phone was released in February 2026. When we checked it listed no repairability score and no repair guides, so we show none. We never copy iFixit’s text.
Read our repair overview for the Pixel 10a, battery replacement basics, screen replacement basics and how to read repairability scores. Our battery page cites Apple’s guidance because we have not yet found a Google equivalent.

Compatible accessories
Categories to look at: cases, 45W PPS chargers, Qi wireless chargers and screen protectors. Google does not list Qi2 magnets for this phone, so a case with magnets does not turn it into a Qi2 phone; check the wireless charger’s own documentation before you buy. We do not have affiliate links yet; when we do they will be marked as paid links.

Who should buy it, and who might skip it
Facts that help you decide:
- You want the lowest price in Google’s current phone lineup. It launched at $499, against $899 for the Pixel 11.
- You want long software support. Google lists 7 years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
- You want a bigger battery. Google lists a typical 5100 mAh.
- You want Qi2 wireless charging. Google lists only Qi-certified wireless charging for the 10a.
- You want an adaptive 1 to 120Hz screen. The 10a lists 60 to 120Hz.
- You want a charger included. None is in the box; budget for a 45W PPS adapter.
- You expect the included cable to give the top data speed. The box cable is USB 2.0, so fast data needs a different cable.
